My background

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field. I have a private practice based in Watertown, New York, where I work with local residents as well as with people who live outside of the Watertown area. For many years, my primary focus was providing clinical psychological services to military service members and veterans. However, over the past decade, I have expanded my practice and I now also work with military family members and with many individuals who are not affiliated with the military. People come to me for support with a range of issues and goals, including support for depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship and parenting issues, work- and school-related stress, postpartum depression, challenging transitions, and increased wellness and personal and creative inspiration.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, including military installations and civilian healthcare facilities. Over the years, I have developed expertise in trauma and PTSD treatment, having been involved in the development and implementation of trauma treatment programs for military personnel, including creating and supervising a partial hospitalization program for Fort Drum soldiers at River Hospital. I have also provided trauma-focused care in clinics such as the Fort Drum/Samaritan Behavioral Health Clinic.

My work in the military community has been deeply rewarding, and I am passionate about helping military families cope with the unique stresses they face—whether it’s deployment, reintegration, or navigating the psychological impacts of trauma and PTSD. I’ve worked extensively with service members at Fairchild Air Force Base and Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness, where I led therapy groups for combat veterans and provided clinical supervision to other mental health professionals.

In my private practice as a clinical psychologist, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to support my patients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, exposure therapies, and mindfulness-based techniques. I take a relational and person-centered approach to psychotherapy, which means that I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals can feel heard and empowered. I believe that a positive relationship with one’s therapist is a key component to healing, and I work collaboratively with each person to help them build resilience, process difficult emotions, and make lasting changes in their lives.

I am the mother of two adult children and I have made my home in Watertown for the past 13 years. I love spending time outdoors and in nature, be it on the ski hill, in my garden, or hiking with my therapy dog, Dana. I am committed to helping my patients navigate life’s challenges and complexities with compassion and skill, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
